What's New

I apologize for the obvious lack of new posts and photos for the last 2 months. Life is busy with a toddler and an infant, and everyone knows things don't get easier around the holidays! Here are a few dates of significance in the past couple of months:
  • November 29: Adeline's bottom right two-year molar came in. We'd been watching for this for a long time!
  • November 29: Evelyn began scooting around the floor, mostly with her head :)
  • Thanksgiving weekend: Evelyn said "Dada" for the first time
  • December 3: Evelyn is 7 months old
  • December 6: Evelyn said "Mama" for the first time
  • December 11: Evelyn started clapping. It was kind of out of the blue. I was at the mall and said, "Yaaaayyy!" to Adeline when she did some impressive jumping in the play area, and Evelyn started clapping! For the rest of the day whenever someone said, "Yay!" she would clap. Very cute :).
  • December 15-19: Grandma came for a visit.
  • December 17: Adeline's bottom left two-year molar came in.
  • Christmas weekend: Must be something about visiting Amma's... Evelyn took up crawling again, this time with more gusto. She's got the army crawl down.
  • January 3: Evelyn is 8 months old
  • January 4: Evelyn tries puffs for the first time, and takes to them quite well!
Here are some slide shows with highlights from Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the in-between and after times around the house.

Random fun at home

Sisters

Evelyn

Adeline can now sing all of the songs on Caedmon's Call's "40 Acres" album. This is some of her rendition of "Shifting Sand" sung into Evelyn's bulb syringe that was recently rediscovered and turned into a microphone.

Evelyn's a happy kid :)

Memorization Sunday

Today was Memorization Sunday at our church. Twice a year - once during fall semester and once during spring semester - people in the church who have memorized verses or passages of Scripture stand up and recite them during what would normally be the Sunday School hour. The organized Sunday School classes usually have something memorized and then there is a time for anyone to get up front and recite something they have worked on. Adeline's class (the 2's and 3's) memorized two verses for today's event. Here they are all lined up on the pew awaiting their turn - left to right: Hannah, Ashlyn, Adeline, Monica and Mason.

Here they are reciting their verses:

If you didn't notice, Adeline didn't say anything when the kiddoes recited their verses in church, so we asked her later. Here she is reciting her verses at home:

A few times a day she says, "What's your memory verse?" wanting us to ask her what her memory verse is. So we say, "Adeline, what's your memory verse?" and she'll recite the first one. Then she'll ask again, "What's your memory verse?", so we ask again and she tells us the second one. It is very cute :).

Hands-On Museum

Today Amma took us to the Hands-On Museum in Ann Arbor when she came over to visit. We had so much fun!

Adeline got to see how flexible she is...

She drove an ambulance:

Witnessed a tornado in action:

And went fishing!

Amma got a membership for us so we can have fun all year! Thanks, Amma!

Impromptu Photo Shoot

Adeline asked to hold Evelyn on the couch this morning. They were so adorable I started taking pictures. I think these will serve as Evelyn's 6 month shots :). Enjoy!

So L.A.!

Adeline's friend Monica has lots of dress up clothes to play with. Adeline discovered the heels, sunglasses and the Barbie Blackberry. I think I might have a girly-girl!!
